An employer in Tameside is looking for an apprentice to join their team working on the production and finish or sheet metal. This apprenticeship is being advertised through a training provider in Greater Manchester

As an apprentice you will be expected to complete the required academic and practical training requirements of the apprenticeship as provided for by the company’s nominated training provider in the order to successfully achieve the required qualification. You will be expected to complete all relevant coursework on time and to a high standard.

Working as part of a team and supporting members of the team, your main duties will include a variety of tasks directed to support the team in meeting deadlines, continually developing your capabilities to produce a variety of components in a timely and accurate manner and  maintaining a positive approach to become a fully contributing member of the team.

The majority of the working day will be occupied in the production and finishing of sheet metal components, including ductwork. You will attend college as part of your apprenticeship programme, which will make up part of your working week.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: Production, maintenance and finishes of sheet metal components Ensuring a clean and safe work area Prioritising your workload to help the team meet deadlines.


The role requires a good level of understanding in both Maths and Science. The successful candidate will have achieved GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English.

Successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team and support senior members on the workshop floor

The employer is looking for a presentable young person with a willingness to learn new skills and work in an office and technical environment.
