An employer in Trafford are looking for an Apprentice Mechanical fitter to join their team working on remanufactured engines. The apprenticeship is advertised through a training provider in Greater Manchester.

As an apprentice you will be expected to complete the required academic and practical training requirements of the apprenticeship as provided for by the company’s nominated training provider in the order to successfully achieve the required qualification. You will be expected to complete all relevant coursework on time and to a high standard.  You will also be required to gain an understanding of other aspects of the company’s operations by participating in company assigned training and projects.

Duties would include:

  • Inspecting and reassembling a range of engines
  • Working through all areas to develop a sound knowledge of the full range of company products and manufacturing processes
  • Operating all shop floor equipment safely and efficiently to strip down, inspect and rebuild engine assemblies to original specification
  • Working in conjunction with all staff when required to provide assistance in other areas to ensure production is maintained to required levels
  • Working correctly at all times to the company environmental, ISO quality and health and safety procedures
  • Producing and maintaining accurate records in accordance with role requirements
  • Demonstrating continual commitment to develop your skills and knowledge throughout your apprenticeship

The successful candidate will have achieved GCSE minimum Grade D in maths, English and science. Good IT skills would also be an advantage

The employer is looking for someone presentable with a desire to learn new skills.

The successful candidate will show a willingness to work in a hands-on engineering role and they will have good interpersonal/team working skills, showing a positive outlook.

There is a need for someone who is dependable, adaptable and can show a flexible attitude to work and personal development.
