Julie Madigan
Chief Executive
Julie Madigan joined The Manufacturing Institute in June 1995 and was appointed Chief Executive in March 1996. Julie oversaw the development of the Manufacturing Institute from this time, building the customer base, developing all of the product and service offerings, building a strong brand and reputation and establishing the Institute as the first of the Regional Centres for Manufacturing Excellence in the UK. In 2001 the Institute began to deliver the Manufacturing Advisory Service for the North West region. In 2003 the Agenda for Change in North West Manufacturing was launched, targeted to drive over £400 million of quality, cost and delivery improvements in the manufacturing base. Since 1995 the Institute has worked in over 4,000 manufacturing companies and over 30,000 manufacturers have attended educational programmes focused on driving productivity.
Paul Glossop
Principle Consultant
Paul’s background in process development chemistry began at Zeneca and was consolidated at GlaxoSmithKline. During his eight years at the GSK Ulverston site, he took on project management of full plant scale trials, designed a new chemical process on time and within budget that also increased the competitiveness of the product by £3m per year. Paul joined The Manufacturing Institute from a role as Business Leader at Smiths Aerospace Components.
