Fab Academy Opening Evening

Looking for a change of career, a project to test your brain or want to work with the amazing Fab Lab network around the world?

Manchester’s Fab Lab is now recruiting students of all ages for their renowned Fab Academy Diploma course,– an intensive 20 week programme for inventors and entrepreneurs to design and make just about anything.

And on Thursday 4th December we'’ll be throwing open the Fab Lab Manchester doors between 6pm and 8pm for a very special Open Evening to tell you more, and we'll even provide some wine, beer and nibbles.

We’'ve lined up former Fab Academy Diploma students and some special guests to share their experiences of this fantastic course and look into the exciting future of manufacturing.

On the course you will learn how to plan, prototype and document your ideas, completing a hands-on project each week using digital fabrication tools, whilst documenting your progress resulting in a personal portfolio of your work.

And once a week the Fab Lab HQ in Manchester will become a global hub of learning when hundreds of students from 15 countries link up to the famous Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for a video lecture by Professor Neil Gershenfeld, the Fab Lab founder.

Once the course has been completed the Fab Academy Diploma will allow candidates to apply to work at any Fab Lab around the world.
